2022 Recap & 2023 Expectations

The previous calendar year has come and gone in what seems like a blink of an eye. There were quite a few changes in 2022 with Willamette Youth Football and Cheer, and with 2023 approaching, the goal is now to create both consistency and stability. With all eight teams within the WillametteYFC having participated in Autzen Weekend last October, expectations for this Fall may be even loftier for this year! Like every year, the WVYFC will conclude with their annual State Championships which will be hosted in Medford, Oregon at Southern Oregon University and Spiegelberg High School.

2022 opened with the addition of Association President, Ean Lynum and a complete revision of its leadership board. Ean came into the association as a first-year youth sports administrator but also brought over 20+ years of combined playing, coaching and league operation experience and with him.  "The main focus for last season was to learn as much as I could, and as fast as I could while also doing what is best for Willamette. There were tons of ups and downs last year. I am only hoping to continue to build on the positives and turn any perceived negatives into additional positives. For as well as 2022 may have gone, I know that I can do a lot better in making 2023 more enjoyable for everyone."

As the next season creeps up on us all, WillametteYFC is working diligently behind the scenes to ensure the best possible year for all our participants. WillametteYFC is looking forward to hosting multiple preseason camps for both football and cheerleading, launching an online store to purchase team-branded merchandise and fan gear, expanding coaching staffs to include more experienced individuals to assist in player skill development, hosting more HOME football games in the Bethel community and so much more.

WillametteYFC would like to extend our warmest and most sincere thanks to everyone who makes this massive machine move. To our coaches, individual volunteers, players, and every single household that continually supports WillametteYFC: THANK YOU! "I truly believe that together we are stronger and only together will we all be able to provide the best experience for all of our young athletes."
